A recent Blog by B. York asks why democrats are pushing forward on healthcare when they know that it is not liked by the American people?
The question was put to a Democratic strategist who asked to remain anonymous. Yes, Democrats certainly understand that voters don't like the current bills, he said, and they are fully aware they will probably pay a price next year. But they have found a way to view going ahead anyway as the logical thing to do, at least in their eyes. He said that you have to look at the issue from three different Democratic perspectives: the House of Representatives, the White House and the Senate.
"In the House, the view of [California Rep. Henry] Waxman and [House Speaker Nancy] Pelosi is that we've waited two generations to get health care passed, and the 20 or 40 members of Congress who are going to lose their seats as a result are transitional players at best," he said. "This is something the party has wanted since Franklin Roosevelt." In this view, losses are just the price of doing something great and historic. (The strategist also noted that it's easy for Waxman and Pelosi to say that, since they come from safely liberal districts.)
"At the White House, the picture is slightly different," he continued. "Their view is, 'We're all in on this, totally committed, and we don't have to run for re-election next year. There will never be a better time to do it than now.'"
"And in the Senate, they look at the most vulnerable Democrats -- like [Christopher] Dodd and [Majority Leader Harry] Reid -- and say those vulnerabilities will probably not change whether health care reform passes or fails. So in that view, if they pass reform, Democrats will lose the same number of seats they were going to lose before."
All those scenarios have a certain logic (even if the Senate calculation undercounts the number of potentially vulnerable Democrats). But each scenario is premised on passing an unpopular bill that hurts the party. Even if there's a strategic rationale for doing it, why are Democrats dead-set on hurting themselves?
"Because they think they know what's best for the public," the strategist said. "They think the facts are being distorted and the public's being told a story that is not entirely true, and that they are in Congress to be leaders. And they are going to make the decision because ___dammit, it's good for the public."
Of course, going forward has turned out to be harder than many Democrats thought. And now, with various proposals lying wrecked along the road, the true believers are practicing what the strategist calls "principled damage control."
But still, does it make sense? In the end, perhaps the most compelling explanation for Democratic behavior is that they are simply in too deep to do anything else. "Once you've gone this far, what is the cost of failure?" asks the strategist.
At that point -- Republicans will love this -- he compared congressional Democrats with robbers who have passed the point of no return in deciding to hold up a bank. Whatever they do, they're guilty of something. "They're in the bank; they've got their guns out. They can run outside with no money, or they can stick it out, go through the gunfight, and get away with the money."
That's it. Democrats are all in. They're going through with it. Even if it kills them.

Propaganda is in full mode by the Obama government and his henchmen, with the aid of the adoring liberal media who refuse to print the whole truth for the public. They are masterful in their various uses of propaganda. In order for America to understand what is going on citizens must become efficient in looking through the fog of propaganda to see the real story. Therefore, I am going to start printing on this web site a primer on Propaganda so that you will see the tricks that the Obama administration and the liberals in congress with the aid of the liberal news media are using to pull the wool over the publics eyes.
The Healthcare bill, cap and tax, and all the huge spending plans are all part of the big plan for America. This plan was stated by President Obama while campaigning for the office of president. During that time Obama stated that there would be a huge change for America and he is now attempting to put that plan into operation. However, a lot of that plan is hidden from view while vast amounts of propaganda is placed into the media so that citizens will be confused and under control while this plan is put into place by the liberal congress.
Citizens must stay alert because we will not recognize America after the socialists are finished with their plan!!! We must get out the vote in 2010 and make sure that the socialist democrats are not in office after we all vote. This means that we have to organize groups and educate ourselves about the various techniques of propaganda and use these along with the techniques that were used by the community organizers.
Tea party groups are meeting in our city watch the paper for those meetings and make plans to attend. Remember if we set and do nothing then we will not win this battle for our country. We also must stop the formation of a 'BIG TENT' that will house conservatives with conservative or moderate democrats,because democrats will remain liberals no matter what tent you place them in!!!
I would urge you to start using Obama’s Community Organizers as a guide and use their tricks and traps against the socialists in our government. Search the website for these groups and learn about them and start forming your own community organizer groups to become activists and help take back our country!!! You can also watch Glenn Beck on Fox News Channel because he is going to show us how to organize, demonstrate and react in a way that will start the socialists heads spinning!!!! Glenn will use most of 2010 to set the stage for his “Plan To Take Back America” and he will have several meetings in cities across America. Finally, sometime in August in Washington DC at the Lincoln Memorial Glenn plans to stage a massive gathering of concerned citizens.

Socialist Propaganda is now very evident on most T.V. News Shows. ABC, NBC, CBS, MSNBC, CNBC, NPR, CNN, and even the Weather Channel are all following the socialist and liberal view and not even trying to hide this fact. It appears that they believe that the public masses can not think for themselves so they, the Main Street Media, are doing a public service by thinking for their viewers.
Apparently most,if not all, of the people who continue to watch these news sources need this information. However, this provides the liberal media with a means to exploit those who are not prepared to think for themselves. The American people must wake up and understand that what they are viewing is nothing more than social propaganda because only one view is presented and that is the liberal view!!! If you want to become informed about what is really happening I would urge you to view the Fox News Chanel or the Internet sites that I have posted on my web site at www.myretiredvoice.com.
The American people have to understand that those who write TV commercials are not the only experts with skills in perception management! These other experts all have a deep understanding of the methods of Social Propaganda and in today's world the liberals don't hesitate to use these skills. Everyone must understand that a persons perception of things around him/her is their reality. These Socialists are attempting to alter perceptions in order to change reality. Light At The End of the Tunnel?
Are we approaching a point in time where the American people are able to breathe easier about healthcare? Yes, but only if they continue to write letters, e-mail, or call their representatives in both houses of congress. If everyone decides that they can take a break and not continue with their current efforts then we will lose our battle to stop this hideous healthcare plan.
The Marxists will think that we have given up and continue with their efforts to pass this plan through congress! We can not stop right now, instead we must double our efforts because the moderate democrats believe that as a result of November 3rd’s election results they will also lose their reelection attempt’s if they vote for this plan! Unless seniors continue to make a loud noise then they will lose this battle and as a result will see huge cuts in Medicare!
The next battle will be to stop the cap and tax bill that congress is working on because that terrible bill will make our utility bills go up because all of the energy taxes will be passed on to consumers. The energy experts have predicted that these casts could go up 200 % and may go even higher! It seems as if these social democrats want to take us all down so they can lift up everyone to the same level and have control over everything in America. If you think things are bad now wait until the socialists get finished with us!!!!

New Medical Tax
According to Dick Morris www.dickmorris.com President Obama is planning to reduce the cost of medical care by taxing it! This new medical device tax is very troubling since it will be affecting those that can least afford it or survive it. As more details of the health care bills emerge, the more they seem to be over the top.
The Senate Finance Committee bill includes a broad provision taxing all manner of medical devices. This tax includes such things as pacemakers, stints, artificial heart valves, defibrillators, automated wheelchairs, mechanized artificial limbs, replacement hips and knees, surgical gurneys, laparoscopic equipment, and the like. It appears that senior citizens will again suffer most from this hideous Healthcare Plan that is about to be forced upon us.
Most groups that met with this Whitehouse had their chance to make a deal with this band of elitist robbers. But, unlike all those other groups, the medical device industry refused the deal. This posture enraged the tyrants in the White House who vowed to punish the industry with cuts imposed by Congress. The result was a decision by the revenue-hungry Senate Finance Committee to extract billions in funds from the industry.
Mr. Morris suggests that the legislation does not work like a sales or excise tax. Rather it follows the model of the punitive tobacco settlement imposed on cigarette companies in the 90s. It assesses an industry-wide payment which firms must make in proportion to their market share. It bars them from passing along the cost of the assessment by charging more for certain basic products, but allows them to raise the price of others to raise the funds for the fee.
So, the result will be that virtually every piece of advanced surgical equipment will be subject to a price increase to meet the levy from Washington. No matter that these devices often make the difference between life and death and that, in effect, taxing them raises the cost of vital treatments. The vengeful White House will have its pound of flesh from the medical device industry for daring to be independent and to refuse to knuckle down to Administration pressure!
This tax, imposed in a spirit of haughty arrogance, falls on totally inappropriate objects. Valves, prosthetic limbs, pacemakers, hearing aids, and such are essential therapies that make life longer, better, and less painful. To tax these vital devices makes no sense. Except, in the world of special interest group politics, that grips this take-no-prisoners and show-no-mercy White House.
The most recent Gallup Poll reflected that 49% of respondents said they believed that the Obamacare plan will increase their health care costs. Only about 20% said it would lower them. It is taxes like these that substantiate this kind of concern and as more and more facts are learned then more people will be opposed to the new version of the healthcare plan.

Obama poised to cede sovereignty, according to Lord Christopher Monckton, a noted climate change skeptic and a British Lord , who gave a presentation at Bethel University in St. Paul, MN. on 10/14. He indicated that we were once a “beacon of freedom” to the world. In this speech, he issues a dire warning to all Americans regarding the United Nations Climate Change Treaty, scheduled to be signed in Copenhagen in December 2009. The judge found in-favor of Monckton, ordering 9 serious errors in the film to be corrected.
Lord Monckton travels internationally in an attempt to educating the public about the myth of global warming. Americans need to stand up, or it’s over. Answer: I don’t minimize the difficulty. But on this subject – I don’t really do politics, because it’s not right. In the end, your politics is for you. The correct procedure is for you to get onto your representatives, both in the US Senate where the bill has yet to go through (you can try and stop that) and in [the House], and get them to demand their right of audience (which they all have) with the president and tell him about this treaty. There are many very powerful people in this room, wealthy people, influential people.
Get onto the media, tell them about this treaty.
